Here is what I have for the airshow itinerary:
Be aware that parking could be in a grass field or possibly on hard surface area. If you want to bring others (family, friends, etc.) and drive your OTC (other than Corvette) that is fine, otherwise drive the corvette.
We will be attending one of the most action packed shows around with Gene Soucy, Bill Stein, Dan Buchanan, The original “Batcopter” from the 1966 Batman movie, Bill Leff in his T6 Warbird, Dodge jet truck, Firewalker, The Suffolk Sky-Dive Team and of course, the Legendary Navy Blue Angels precision flight team. This promises to be a day of excitement for young and old alike.
For those who would like an early breakfast or coffee, we will be meeting at the McDonalds at Rt. 10 & I-295. beginning at 6:30 am on Sunday Sept 17. Drivers meeting at 6:50 am; Departure at 07:00 am promptly. Fuel is available close by if needed.
We will ride down 295, 460, 58,64 and enter through the back gate on Dam Neck Road. The ride will take about 2.5 hrs. We will take a brief break at the D.Q. in Windsor Va. then proceed to the show.
- The gate opens at 8:00 am
- Flight demos will begin at 10:00 – 10:30
- The Legendary Blue Angels fly at 3:00 pm
- The show ends around 4:00 pm
- Return home at your leisure
A few brief notes:
- Bring your club radio
- Admission and Parking is Free
- No ice chests or coolers are allowed in the flight line area, keep in corvettes.
- No outside food or drinks allowed. Food vendors are available on the flight line.
- Bring folding chairs with umbrellas (no large patio umbrellas or tents)
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses etc
- Fanny packs and purses are allowed
NO SMOKING ON THE FLIGHT LINE
