    Corvettes at Carlisle

    OD's - Lori & Dave Dolan

Corvettes at Carlisle runs Thursday, August 23 - Sunday, August 26, 2018. This is the largest and most fun-filled Corvette event in the world, the annual Corvettes at Carlisle event features more than 5,000 Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. Corvette enthusiasm is contagious with participation in autocross, burnouts and the parade through historic downtown Car- lisle. The excitement continues with an incredible shopping experience, including a huge swap meet with a wide variety of vendors, an all-Corvette car corral, Manufacturers Midway and Installation Alley. Register online or call 717-243-7855 today.

If you are new to the Carlisle experience, note that Pennsylvania 7-11s and grocery stores do not sell beer, so plan to bring what you’ll want for the weekend or else you have to get it from a distributor. Don't forget your name tags, Club apparel and Club radios.

We have done the Saturday night parade 3 years running and highly recommend it. Over 500 Vettes drive 3 abreast through downtown Carlisle and the route is jammed with cheering spectators. Suggest you sign up for that along with Fun Field Parking when you register for Carlisle.

We will drive up Friday morning. If you would like to join our caravan, meet us in the River City Diner parking lot at 803 E. Parham Road (Parham and Route 1, just off I-95). We will meet at 8:00 and depart at 8:15 a.m. Don't worry about breakfast--we'll stop about an hour up the road. Hope you'll join us.

Tour the Collection of Lewis Little

    OD’s: Bob and Doris Brody

    Date: October 20, 2018

Please join us for a Tour of the Lewis Little Auto Collection followed by lunch at Smithfield Station.

Lewis Little has a wonderful collection of Autos and Automobile Memorabilia that has been featured in Boomer Magazine and elsewhere. The cost of this event is $5 per person which must be paid in advance to Bob Brody, 3918 McTyres Cove Court, Midlothian, VA 23112. Tour attendance is limited to the first 50 CCR Members who pay.  (Sorry no children under 12 will be admitted to Mr. Lewis’s Collection.)

Sorry, I cannot find any recent photos of the Collection; here is one from 2013. Mr. Lewis changes his collection regularly, so the display will be different than what we saw in 2013, so I expect to see some beauties that were not on display for our last visit.

We will meet at 8:45 AM at the Sheetz, 231 East Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836, for a 9:00 AM Driver’s meeting. We will depart at 9:15AM and travel Route 10 to Smithfield.

A stop at Hardee’s, 1909 S Church St, Smithfield, VA 23430, will allow a break prior to the tour the Collection, which starts at 11:15 AM.

At 12:30 we will travel to Smithfield Station for lunch. A varied menu, selected just for our group, will be available and they will tabulate individual checks.

Get your $5 payment in soon to be one of the first 50!
