Richmond International Raceway needed our support for their Air Guard 400 NASCAR race on September 11, 2010. Parade lap vehicles were needed on short notice, 3 weeks before the event. Within 72 hours of the member email announcement, CCR members responded positively and volunteered their Corvette convertibles for this activity.
In return for this volunteered duty, RIR will provide a car corral area on the Midway and 2 grandstand race tickets for each vehicle. A random driver drawing will be held during the afternoon to determine which NASCAR star will be the passenger. The track has arranged for a professional photographer to be on hand to capture the moment in the spotlight.
The photo makes a great memento of the event. This is the 3rd time RIR has asked CCR to be part of pre-race activities, and the 3rd time we have jumped at the opportunity. I have a feeling Mustang owners in Virginia are jealous of our cars now!
